reflection

I wasn't really happy with the result and thought it could do with a lot of improvements. I think something that went well is the background music. I wasn't sure if it was going to fit well with it but I think I was able to make it work.

Feedback

I was happy with the feedback that I received and the data I have been able to collect from it. One recurring thing mentioned was how quick some of the shots were. I would like to slow them down and pace them better when coming back to it. I think it is important to

evaluation

For the research of this project I collected together a load of movies that inspired me. I also looked into articles specifically about writing horror and comedy. These taught me great ways to expand on these within my project and an idea on how to write the script. This helped develop and improve my project. I also did research on different comedy horror movies and how they were made. I developed my project by getting rid of a lot of the things I would have liked to do as they would have been too much and I didn't have the facilities or actors to do so. The outcome of my task was to make an advertisement comedy horror project. I felt quite confident about the project and a little bit over my head. I think that I tried to go out of my depth at first but that changed as I developed my video. I think my project development allowed me to explore lots of different ways that I could take it resulting in a learning experience for me. It was definitely important in my process to cut down some of it. After the project was completed I felt relatively happy about what I've done. Although I wish I could have done more footage generally I wish id done more to make sure it doesn't seem so rushed. I think that the horror element went better than anything. I learnt from this that horror may be more of a strong point than comedy for me. I faced a challenge when attempting to get the clips off of the SD card. I didn't have a card reader so waited days before realising there was an SD card reader built into my computer. So that took up some editing time but now I know that for next time. Another thing I had to overcome was that I didn't have a boat and streaming water to use. I instead bought a Frisbee and water bottle. My aim was to pour water and send the Frisbee floating in it but unfortunately that didn't work out. Instead we ended up just throwing the Frisbee forward across the floor. The bad points were probably how much time I left for editing. I should have planned ahead really and done it in the Easter holiday before other people started. I think my design might have been satisfactory to the target market. I think the project was successful with the colour grading. I like how this went because it added to the horror. I think what didn't go well was the pacing of the clips. Some went far too fast and others went too slow. My skills in effects and colour grading definitely improved in this project. In our last project I could not do these things but I have learnt a lot since. The meanings behind this were probably the same as the ones in the original It film. The feedback I got to improve was that the clips looked rushed together. In the future I would plan everything out a little better and try not to leave anything last minute. I have realised there was more that I should plan in advance. One piece of knowledge I will use in the future is what I have learnt about effects and colour grading. This is something I have not used much before. Academic knowledge has helped in the writing for definite, especially regarding the script. In the future I would definitely manage my time better and be better prepared. I could develop my skills for the future with tutorials and research.
